Lake District Day Trip - With Lakes Supertours review

July 26, 2016

Last week, me and my family went back to the Lake District for a family day trip and for the third time we saw the beautiful attractions of this national park with 'Lakes Supertours'. If any of you would like to visit the Lake District, I would recommend you get taken around with a company like Lakes Supertours because all you need to worry about is travelling to the Lake District then you can sit back and let them guide you to the best attractions meaning less hassle for you as you don't need to find these top attractions yourself.

There are different types of tours you can choose from which can be found on their website (link to their website will be provided at the bottom of this blog post). Below are some pictures that I took on the day and these photos will show you some of the views you can see on the tour with Lakes Supertours.

Why I recommend Lakes Supertours:
  • The coach drivers know their stuff! Throughout the tour, the person giving us the tour told us all the interesting, historical facts about whatever location we were in as they have been doing these tours for a number of years now. The Lakes Supertours staff do not only have a lot of knowledge but they are also very friendly and helpful too.
  • This tour covers most of the Lake District National Park, with a lot of great photostops so this is perfect for those of you who love to take photos and selfies. A picture in the Lake-District is guaranteed to look perfect for your social media sites to show your friends and families or like me, you could be a blogger and they would be perfect to include in a blog post too.
  • The tours are set at a reasonable price
  • Depending on the tour you wish you go on, you really do get a tour of some amazing places in the Lake-District. Why It is so convenient to go around Lake-District with tour companies like Lakes Supertours is that to get to some of places with the most mind blowing views, you need to travel on some very narrow roads, so for all the bad drivers out there or for the drivers who fear of risking their lives by driving on not just narrow roads but roads that are high up in the mountains, with tour companies, you can sit back and let the professionals drive you around so that you are stress free.
What I would recommend you do for the best possible experience:
  • Check the weather in advance before booking because I think that for you to enjoy your time in Lake District it should be sunny with no showers. However, if it does unfortunately rain on the day, make sure to bring an umbrella or a raincoat.
  • Take some comfortable shoes as you will be walking around a lot and unless you can master walking on rocks wearing heels, I suggest you just wear something like trainers.
  • If you are travelling by train, make sure you reach Windermere with at least half an hour until the tour startsjust in case your connecting trains get delayed by a few minutes. In our case for example, we reached Oxenholme Station but we missed our connecting train to Windermere as the train to Oxenholme was delayed just a few minutes and when we missed the train to Windermere, waiting for the next train was going to make us miss our tour so we had to hire a taxi to take us to Windermere which was just a waste of money.
  • These tours do not provide any refreshments so if you do get hungry on journeys make sure you bring some snacks for the trip and also bring money for meals of the day such as lunch. The tour company will drop you in 'Keswick market' where you can buy lunch and I recommend you eat lunch in 'The Lakes Restaurant' where you can eat a very delicious fish and chips meal.
  • If you do get travel sick, simply tell the coach driver and they will be happily stop the coach and allow you get out the coach to get some fresh air and also remember to bring some sick bags with you just in case you need to use them.
  • It is not necessary for you to stay the night if you only want to see the main attractions because you can see most these attractions in a day. However, if you do want to stay the night to see more of Lake District, Lakes Supertours provides accommodation with a hotel called 'Lakes Lodges' which is a 2 minute walk from the nearest train station (Windermere train station). There are also other hotels nearby if you prefer to stay somewhere else.
  • Most importantly... don't forget to bring your camera and your phone to Snapchat and Instagram everything.
